How to use low power microscope

(1) Taking out and placing the microscope: The microscope is usually stored in a cabinet or box. When it is used, take it out of the cabinet. Hold the mirror arm tightly with your right hand, hold the mirror base with your left hand, and place the microscope on the experimental table in front of your left shoulder. The rear end is preferably 1-2 inches away from the edge of the table, making it easy to operate while sitting.

(2) Align the light: Use your thumb and middle finger to move the rotator (do not move the objective lens by hand), so that the low-power lens is aligned with the light hole of the stage (when you hear a knocking sound when turning, it means that the optical axis of the objective lens has been aligned with the lens barrel Center). Open the aperture, raise the light collector, and turn the reflector to the light source. Observe on the eyepiece with your left eye (open the right eye). At the same time, adjust the direction of the reflector until the light in the field of view is uniform and bright.

(3) Place the slide specimen: Take a slide specimen and place it on the microscope stage. Make sure the side with the cover glass is facing up. Do not put it upside down. Clamp it with the spring clip of the slide pusher, and then rotate the pusher screw. , adjust the part to be observed to the center of the light hole.

(4) Adjust the focal length: Use your left hand to turn the coarse adjuster counterclockwise to slowly raise the stage to a position where the objective lens is about 5 mm away from the specimen. Be careful not to look at the eyepiece when raising the stage. Be sure to look at it from the right side. Watch the stage rise to prevent it from rising too much, causing damage to the lens or specimen. Then, open both eyes at the same time, observe on the eyepiece with your left eye, and slowly turn the coarse adjuster clockwise with your left hand to slowly lower the stage until until clear objects appear in the field of vision.
If the object is not in the center of the field of view, you can adjust the slide pusher to bring it to the center (note that the direction of moving the glass is opposite to the direction of movement of the object in the field of view). If the brightness in the field of view is not appropriate, you can raise and lower the position of the light collector. Or adjust the size of the aperture by opening and closing the aperture. If when adjusting the focal length, the lens stage has dropped beyond the working distance (>5.40mm) without seeing the object image, it means that the operation failed, and the operation should be repeated. Do not rise impatiently and blindly. Mirror stand.
