How to use the fire line identification function of multimeter
Electricians used an electric pen before doing maintenance and troubleshooting, but now they use a multimeter. In fact, not only the electric pen can distinguish between live wire and zero wire, but the multimeter can also distinguish between live wire and zero wire, but many people just don't know it.
Method of distinguishing zero line of live wire with electric pen
Ordinary electric pen: in the past, an electric pen was always used to check the faults of electricians, and the ordinary electric pen distinguished the live line and the zero line. Most people basically knew that the live line and the zero line were measured directly with an electric pen, and the electric pen lit as the live line and the electric pen did not light as the zero line.
Digital pen: Since the digital pen has been used, it has been rarely used for ordinary pens. For digital pens, there are many functions, such as checking the broken line without electricity, distinguishing the zero line from the live line, distinguishing the positive and negative poles of the DC battery, and judging whether the wire is short-circuited. Therefore, ordinary pens are gradually eliminated. If you use digital pens to distinguish the live line from the zero line, you can directly measure the live line and the zero line with the pen and observe the voltage of the digital pen. If the maximum voltage is 220V,
Inductive breakpoint stylus: The main function of the breakpoint stylus is to find the position of the breakpoint inside the line after the wire is not energized. The breakpoint stylus distinguishes between the live wire and the zero wire, and measures the live wire and the zero wire respectively. When the breakpoint stylus measures the live wire, it makes a relatively rapid sound, while when measuring the zero wire, it makes a relatively slow sound.
Method of distinguishing live wire and zero wire by multimeter
For multimeter, there will be an AC voltage gear. For AC voltage gear, you can measure AC voltage. When measuring voltage, use red and black probes and put them on live wire and zero wire respectively, which will display its voltage. However, when measuring voltage, you should put it in a suitable gear, for example, when measuring household voltage of 220V and 380V, you should put the multimeter in the gear of AC voltage of 700V V.
For AC voltage gear, not only the voltage can be measured, but also the live line and the zero line can be distinguished. It's just that many people don't know. The multimeter distinguishes between live wire and zero wire. Put the multimeter in the AC voltage gear, put the black stylus aside, and measure the live wire and zero wire with the red stylus respectively. Observe the numbers of the multimeter. The big number is the live wire and the small number is the zero wire. If you feel that the number is not obvious, you can adjust the gear to a smaller level, so that the number will be more obvious.
For the AC voltage gear of multimeter, you can not only measure the voltage, but also distinguish the live wire from the neutral wire, in fact, you can also find the breakpoint inside the wire
