Important Notes for Using 4‑in‑1 Multi‑Gas Detectors

A 4‑in‑1 gas detector differs from other detectors. It is capable of measuring multiple hazardous gases. For safety purposes, relevant precautions shall be understood prior to operation. The key points are outlined as follows:

① Charge the 4‑in‑1 gas detector before first use. It is recommended to charge the detector after each working day to ensure sufficient power for operation.

② If the combustible gas sensor has been exposed to any catalyst contaminants or poisons (such as sulfides, silicone vapors, halogen compounds, etc.), it is recommended to test the sensor with certified gas of known concentration.

③ Calibrate the 4‑in‑1 gas detector before first use. Afterwards, perform regular calibration according to service conditions and exposure to hazardous gases or contaminants. Mandatory calibration is recommended every 180 days (6 months).

④ A bump test of the sensors is recommended before daily use. This means exposing the detector to gas with a concentration higher than the high alarm setpoint to verify that the instrument responds and triggers audible and visual alarms. Calibration shall be carried out if readings exceed the specified range.

⑤ Electromagnetic interference in certain environments may cause abnormal operation of the instrument.

⑥ Prevent the combustible gas sensor from exposure to lead-containing compounds, silicones and chlorinated hydrocarbons. Although some organic vapors (e.g. leaded gasoline, halogenated hydrocarbons) may temporarily disable the sensor, its function can be restored by calibration in most cases.

⑦ A sudden rise followed by a drop in readings or unstable readings on the 4‑in‑1 gas detector may indicate that the gas concentration exceeds the upper measurement limit, which can be hazardous.
