Inspection contents before use of megohmmeter test
1. The megohmmeter should be placed in a fixed location when not in use, and the ambient temperature should not be too low or too high. Do not place the megohmmeter on a damp or dirty floor, and avoid placing it in air containing harmful gases, such as acid, alkali and other vapors. Severe and long-term vibration should be avoided as much as possible to prevent damage to the meter head and pointer from affecting the accuracy of the meter.
2. The wires connected between the terminals and the object to be measured cannot use twisted wires and should be connected separately to prevent the readings from being affected by poor insulation of the twisted wires.
3. Equipment containing large capacitors should be discharged before measurement to ensure equipment and personal safety.
4. It is forbidden to use a megohmmeter to measure when there is lightning or near high-voltage equipment. Megohmmeters can be used only when the equipment is not charged and cannot be charged due to induction by other power sources.
5. When using a megohmmeter for measurement, press and hold the megohmmeter firmly to prevent the megohmmeter from shaking when turning the rocker.
6. Turn the rocker handle from slow to fast. If you find that the pointer points to zero, do not continue to turn hard to prevent damage to the internal coil of the megohmmeter.
7. When measuring, do not twist the two test wires together to avoid inaccurate measurement data. Before discharge, do not touch the measuring part of the object being measured or remove the wires with your hands to prevent electric shock.
8. After the measurement is completed, the device under test should be discharged immediately, and the rocker of the megohmmeter does not stop rotating and the device under test.
