Introduction to Maintenance and Repair of Insulation Resistance Multimeters
I. General Maintenance
Regularly clean the meter's casing with a damp cloth and a neutral detergent. Avoid using abrasives or solvents. Dirt on terminals and probe tips can affect readings-use a cleaner to remove contaminants from each terminal.
When not in use, turn off the power by pressing the POWER button. If unused for an extended period, remove the batteries.
Store the meter in a location free from moisture, high temperatures, and strong magnetic fields.
II. Battery Replacement
Turn off the power by pressing the POWER button. Disconnect the test probes or leads from the terminals and ensure they are fully isolated from the circuit under test.
Remove the two screws securing the battery cover and take off the cover.
Take out the old batteries from the battery compartment.
Install 6 new AA (AM3/LR6) batteries (standard capacity: ~2450mAh).
Replace the battery cover and secure it with the two screws.
III. Fuse Replacement
To avoid electric shock, arc injury, or meter damage, follow these steps to replace the fuse. Use only fuses of the same model and electrical specifications.
Turn off the power and disconnect all test probes/leads from the terminals, ensuring complete isolation from the circuit.
Remove:
Two screws from the battery cover,
Two screws from the rear housing cover,
One screw behind the battery compartment.
Then remove the battery cover and rear housing cover.
Gently pry up one end of the fuse holder to remove the blown fuse. Replace it with a fuse of the same model and specifications (F1A240V). Ensure the fuse is securely clamped in the middle of the fuse holder.
Reattach the battery cover and rear housing cover, then tighten all four screws. Do not use the meter until all covers are securely fastened.
