Introduction to methods for measuring current with a digital multimeter
Before measuring the current, the fuse of the multimeter should be checked first.
When measuring, it is necessary to use the correct terminals, functional settings, and range settings.
When inserting the test wire into the current terminal, do not cross connect (parallel) the probe to any circuit. To directly test the current using a multimeter, you must disconnect the circuit being tested and then connect the multimeter in series with the circuit. The steps are as follows:
1) Disconnect the power supply of the circuit, discharge all high-voltage capacitors, and create a position for inserting a multimeter probe
2) Select A~(AC) or A (DC) mode as needed and refer to the product manual. Insert the black test probe into the COM input socket. Insert the red test probe into the ampere (A) or milliampere (mA/uA) input socket based on the expected reading value.
3) If you use terminal A, please set the rotary switch to the mA/A position. If you use mA/μ A terminals, please set the rotary switch to the μ A position (for currents below 6000 μ A (6 mA)) or mA/A position (for currents above 6000 μ A). Connect the probe tip to both ends of the disconnect point so that all current flows through the digital multimeter (in series). (Touch the high potential end of the disconnected circuit with a red probe, and touch the low potential end with a black probe. Swapping the polarity of the probe will produce a negative reading, but it will not damage the multimeter)

Remove the wiring of the multimeter and restore the circuit to normal working condition.
