Introduction to the General Certification Requirements for Gas Detectors

Gas detectors are instruments that detect the concentration of a certain gas in the environment and are widely used in industries such as chemical engineering, metallurgy, underground pipelines, power electronics, pharmaceuticals, etc., to ensure the safety of enterprise production. Therefore, when choosing gas detection equipment, we must choose qualified products that meet national standards. So how do we determine whether the equipment is qualified and how do we avoid buying inferior products?

Generally speaking, a qualified gas detection equipment requires national certification. Next, the editor will introduce what certifications are required for gas detectors.

1.3C certification

The full name of 3C certification is "Compulsory Product Certification System", with the English name China Compulsory Certification and the English abbreviation CCC. It is a product conformity assessment system implemented by the Chinese government in accordance with laws and regulations to protect the personal and national safety of consumers, strengthen product quality management, and implement it.

The 3C logo is generally affixed to the surface of the product or molded onto it. Upon closer inspection, multiple elliptical "CCC" symbols can be found. There is a random code after each 3C logo, and each random code has a corresponding manufacturer and product. When issuing mandatory product certification marks, the Certification Mark Distribution Management Center has inputted the corresponding product code into the computer database, and consumers can search for the code through the National Quality Certification Center.

It should be noted that the 3C mark is not a quality mark, but rather a fundamental safety certification. That is to say, this is a mandatory certification by the country, and without this certification, it is not allowed to be listed for sale.

Explosion proof certification

Explosion proof certification is a routine test used to determine whether a gas detector meets the requirements of explosion proof standards, type tests, and adaptability. If it meets the requirements, a corresponding explosion proof certification certificate will be issued. When applying for an explosion-proof certificate for a gas detector, it is necessary to provide many important information, such as the enterprise qualification certificate, enterprise quality assurance certificate, technical data, and the submitted samples for applying for an explosion-proof certificate. Therefore, when selecting a gas detector, we should pay attention to checking whether there is an explosion-proof certificate.

Manufacturing measuring instrument license and explosion-proof electrical equipment installation and repair qualification certificate

These two certifications are not specific to the gas detector itself, but rather to the certification of the manufacturer of the gas detector. When purchasing, we need to inquire if the manufacturer has these two certification certificates. These two certification certificates determine whether the brand manufacturer can produce, manufacture, repair, and install relevant gas detector equipment.

Inspection report

Finally, there is the inspection report on the gas detector. This inspection report should preferably be issued by an authoritative national metrological instrument department, which contains various parameters, functions, and detailed data of this gas detector, which can help us understand this instrument as quickly as possible.

When choosing a gas detector, we should focus on checking whether the product has certification in these four aspects to avoid buying counterfeit and inferior products, which may cause unnecessary trouble for enterprise production
