Introduction to the method of cleaning microscope eyepiece

When the microscope is in use, it is easy to get dust or other dirty things. How to clean a dirty microscope lens?

Microscope eyepiece cleaning:

1. Blow off the dust with the ear cleaning ball

2. Apply pure alcohol (100%) to a long-fiber cotton swab. Long fibers are used to prevent short cotton fibers from remaining on microscope lenses or protective filters of digital cameras. The purpose of 100% pure alcohol is to avoid leaving water marks after wiping.

3. Shake off the excess liquid (the purpose is to avoid too much liquid remaining on the surface of the lens).

4. Take the center of the lens as the center of the circle, and push the dirt to the edge of the lens in a circular direction.

5. If you find any dirty spots that cannot be removed, please contact the engineer. The engineer will take measures according to the situation to avoid loss of coating.

Many customers have reported that when using a microscope, the eyepiece and objective lens are wiped with a mixed solution of lens cleaning paper, alcohol and ether, the effect is not ideal, and there is always dust on it that cannot be wiped off. In fact, the correct method is to wrap the wooden strip with lens cleaning paper, dip it in a mixed solution (a mixed solution of alcohol and ether), start from the middle of the lens, and wipe outward in a spiral manner. The paper can only be used once each time, and cannot be used repeatedly.

How to Adjust the Microscope
Adjustment of Microscope Optical Axis
In the optical system of the microscope, the optical axis of the light source microscope, condenser, biological microscope and eyepiece, and the center of the diaphragm must be on the same line as the optical axis of the microscope. Therefore, the optical axis of the microscope must be adjusted before the microscope inspection, otherwise the best observation effect cannot be achieved.

1. Light source filament adjustment: The old microscope needs to adjust the position of the bulb. The light source of today's newer microscopes is already pre-centered, so no adjustment is required.

2. Adjustment of the center of the condenser: in fact, the focus of the adjustment of the optical axis of the microscope is the adjustment of the position of the condenser.
First, shrink the field diaphragm and observe with a 10X objective lens. The outline of the field diaphragm can be seen in the field of view. If it is not in the center, use the two adjustment screws on the outside of the condenser to adjust it to the central part. When the field diaphragm is slowly increased, you can see that the beam spreads evenly to the periphery of the field of view until the contour image of the field diaphragm is completely inscribed with the edge of the field of view, indicating that it has been aligned with the axis. Then slightly increase the field diaphragm, so that the contour image is just outside the field of view or slightly larger.

3. Adjustment of the aperture diaphragm: The aperture diaphragm is installed in the condenser. There are department numbers and positioning marks on the outer edge of the condenser of the research microscope, which is convenient for adjusting the numerical aperture of the condenser and the objective lens. In principle, the numerical aperture of the condenser needs to be adjusted when replacing the objective lens. Generally, the numerical aperture of the objective lens multiplied by 0.6 or 0.8 is the numerical aperture of the condenser.
