Introduction to the Operation and Alarm System of the Portable Gas Detector

I. Long Operation Time of the Portable Gas Detector:

The operation time of the portable gas detector depends on the battery operation time. There are dry batteries or rechargeable batteries, and there are also two types of available instruments that complement each other. Currently, the relatively long operation times on the market are 16 hours and 24 hours, which can be used for two shifts of workers. The actual application time will vary depending on the frequency and duration of the alarms.

II. Perfect Alarm System of the Portable Gas Detector:

Generally, the portable gas detectors on the market nowadays have audible alarms, warning lights, and vibration alarms.

It should be particularly noted that when confirming the audible alarm, not only should the detection distance and decibel value be paid attention to (for example, at 30cm > 95Db), but also the penetrability of the sound should be taken into account.

There is also a fall alarm function. If an operator falls and remains unconscious for more than 20 seconds, the instrument will automatically sound an alarm. If it continues for another 10 seconds, it will escalate into a high-level alarm. There is also an immediate alarm function. If the operator detects an emergency situation on site, he can manually press a button on the instrument to send an alarm to the surrounding personnel. These two functions are exclusive patents of the American company MSA Safety Incorporated.
