Measuring method of laser distance meter


1. Pulse ranging method: use a pulse laser to emit a single laser pulse or laser pulse train, measure the round-trip time for the laser pulse to reach the target and return from the target to the receiver, and calculate the target distance. This method has a large error and is suitable for long-distance measurement.


2. Interference distance measurement method: use the interference principle of light to measure the distance by measuring the interference fringes between laser emission and reception. This method is very accurate, but only measures relative distances.


3. Phase distance measurement method: The measured target is irradiated with a continuously modulated laser beam, and the distance of the target is converted by measuring the phase change generated during the round trip of the beam. This method can realize high-precision long-distance measurement under the condition of adopting cooperative target reflectors and multiple rulers.


The principle of laser range finder


1. The principle of using infrared ranging or laser ranging


The principle of ranging can basically be attributed to measuring the time required for light to go back and forth to the target, and then calculate the distance through the speed of light and the atmospheric refraction coefficient. Because it is difficult to measure time directly, it is usually to measure the phase of continuous wave, which is called phase measuring range finder. Of course, there are also pulsed rangefinders. It should be noted that phase measurement does not measure the phase of infrared or laser, but the phase of the signal modulated on infrared or laser. The construction industry has a handheld laser distance meter for house surveying that works on the same principle.


2. The plane of the object to be measured must be perpendicular to the light. Usually the distance measurement requires the cooperation of a total reflection prism, while the distance meter used for house measurement is directly measured by the reflection of the smooth wall, mainly because the distance is relatively short, and the signal reflected by the light Strong enough. It can be known from this that it must be vertical, otherwise the return signal is too weak and it will not be possible to intelligently and accurately measure the distance.


3. It is usually possible to measure the plane of the object as diffuse reflection. In actual engineering, thin plastic plates are used as the reflection surface to solve the serious problem of diffuse reflection.
