Machine Fault Diagnosis--CEM Noise Meter

Modern industrial production is inseparable from machines, and engines used by machines often produce various noises. Now that environmental protection production is advocated, using noise meters to control noise has become one of the necessary methods for noise control.

For the selection of noise meters, different types of noise meters should be used to measure different environments. Guangzhou Hongcheng has launched a series of professional noise meters. For example, the noise meter DT-85A is suitable for temperature measurement communities and schools. , the noise of the family environment; the noise meter DT-815 is especially suitable for measuring mechanical industrial noise, etc. Its series of noise meters can be widely used in various noise projects, quality control, health prevention and various environmental sound measurement, such as Noise measurement applications in residential areas, industrial and mining areas, schools, airports and other occasions.

Noise control in mechanical production. When diagnosing excessive engine noise, you can use a noise meter to check first, such as those produced by air compressors and power take-offs. Do not mistake these noises for engine noise. Attachment drive belts to exclude noise caused by these devices. Noise can also travel to otherwise non-problematic metal parts, so using a noise meter and stethoscope will help pinpoint where the engine noise is coming from.

Hand-held portable noise meter arrives at each measurement position. If the noise heard changes with the crankshaft speed (engine speed), the noise may be related to the crankshaft, connecting rod, piston, and piston pin. According to the change of the noise data on the noise meter, if the noise changes with the camshaft speed (half speed of the engine), the noise may be related to the valve transmission components. A handheld digital noise meter can help determine if the noise is related to components running at the crankshaft or camshaft speed.

Engine-driven components and accessories such as gear-driven fan clutches, hydraulic pumps, belt-driven chargers, air-conditioning compressors, and superchargers can contribute to engine noise. With the aid of a noise meter, the following information can be used to guide the diagnosis of engine noise:

Main bearing noise: The knocking noise produced by the loose main bearing can be heard when the engine is under load, and its sound is loud and dull. This noise is loudest when the engine is pulling a load or driving with a heavy load. The knocking sound is duller than the connecting rod noise. Use Guangzhou Hongcheng's noise meter DT-8852 for measurement, and you can select A and C gears, use A gear to measure low audio noise, and C gear to measure high-frequency noise, and the data can be stored for easy connection to a computer for analysis. Check the source of the noise.
