Machine troubleshooting - CEM noise measuring device

Modern industrial production is inseparable from machines, and the engines used by machines often produce various noises. Nowadays, environmentally friendly production is promoted, and the use of noise meters for noise control has become one of the necessary methods for noise control.

There should be distinctions in the selection of noise meters. Different types of noise meters should be used to measure different environments. Guangzhou Hongcheng has launched a series of professional noise meters, such as the noise meter DT-85A, which is suitable for temperature measurement in communities and schools. , noise in the home environment; the noise meter DT-815 is particularly suitable for measuring mechanical industrial noise, etc. Its series of noise meters can be widely used in various noise projects, quality control, health prevention and various environmental sound room measurements, such as Noise measurement applications in residential areas, industrial and mining plants, schools, airports and other places.

Noise control in machinery production. When diagnosing faults for excessive engine noise, you can use a noise meter to first check, such as those caused by air compressors and power take-offs. Do not mistake these noises for engine noise. Remove the Accessory drive belts to eliminate noise caused by these devices. Noise can also travel to metal parts that are otherwise fine, so using a noise meter and stethoscope will help pinpoint the location of the engine noise.

Use a handheld portable noise meter to reach each measurement position. If the noise you hear changes with the crankshaft speed (engine speed), the noise may be related to the crankshaft, connecting rod, piston, and piston pin. According to the changes in the noise data on the noise meter, if the noise changes with the camshaft speed (half speed of the engine), the noise may be related to the valve transmission components. A handheld digital noise meter can help determine whether the noise is related to a component running at the speed of the crankshaft or camshaft.

Engine-driven components and accessories such as gear-driven fan clutches, hydraulic pumps, belt-driven chargers, air conditioning compressors, and superchargers may contribute to engine noise. Using a noise meter as an aid, the following information can be used to guide the diagnosis of engine noise:

Main bearing noise: The knocking noise caused by loose main bearings can be heard when the engine is under load. It is loud and dull. This noise is loudest when the engine is hauling or driving with a heavy load. This knocking sound is duller than the noise produced by the connecting rod. Guangzhou Hongcheng's noise meter DT-8852 is used for measurement. It can be divided into A and C gears. Use A gear to measure lower audio noise, and C gear to measure high-frequency noise. The data can be stored for easy connection to a computer for analysis. Check the source of the noise.
