Maintenance and Care Methods for Flammable Gas Detectors

There are many types of gas detectors, and combustible gas detectors are different from others. However, when using any type of gas detector, we should not neglect its maintenance and upkeep! There are many specific maintenance and upkeep methods for combustible gas detectors, which mainly start from our daily usage habits. For example, when using them, we must pay attention to turning them on and off every day. Improper maintenance and upkeep may lead to the malfunction of combustible gas detectors, so we must pay attention!

Combustible gas detector is a portable gas concentration detection instrument that senses concentration through the core component gas sensor. It can be turned on when detection is needed and turned off when not needed. During use, some key points cannot be ignored:
Improper maintenance and upkeep during the construction process are both possible factors for the malfunction of combustible gas detectors. The non-standard construction process may cause the combustible gas detector to malfunction during use. If the combustible gas detector is not located near the equipment that is prone to leaking combustible gas, or installed adjacent to the exhaust fan, the leaked combustible gas cannot fully diffuse to the probe of the combustible gas detector, making it difficult for the leakage hazard to be detected by the combustible gas detector in a timely manner.

Therefore, the combustible gas detector should be reliably grounded during the construction process. Combustible gas detectors and wiring terminals should not be located in areas that are prone to collisions or water ingress, as this can cause equipment circuit breaks or short circuits, and even burn out the internal components of the detector. Non corrosive soldering flux must be used for welding, otherwise the joint will corrode and detach or increase the line resistance, affecting normal detection. Do not drop or throw the detector to the ground. After construction, debugging should be carried out to ensure that the combustible gas alarm is in normal working condition.

The maintenance and upkeep of combustible gas detectors are also important. Due to the harsh working environment of combustible gas detectors, many of which are installed outdoors and often subjected to various dust and pollutants, combustible gas detectors need to communicate with the detection environment in order to detect combustible gas information. Therefore, it is inevitable that various pollutants and dust in the environment will enter the detector, causing damage to the working conditions of the detector. If maintenance and upkeep are not paid attention to, the detection of combustible gas detectors will be obstructed, leading to errors or non detection. Therefore, regular cleaning and maintenance of combustible gas detectors is an important task to prevent malfunctions.

It should also be noted that failure to meet standard requirements or not being grounded at all can make the combustible gas detector susceptible to electromagnetic interference and cause malfunctions. Prevent components from aging. From the perspective of reliability, the grounding of combustible gas detectors should be regularly checked and grounded. At the same time, it has been proven in practice that systems with a service life of more than 3 years tend to experience more faults caused by component aging. Therefore, if the service life exceeds the requirements of the usage regulations, it should be replaced in a timely manner.
