Although it resembles a pair of pliers, it is actually a clamp meter, and its function is very different from that of a pliers. A clamp meter is a meter that measures current. Generally, a current transformer, a clamp wrench and a rectifier magnetoelectric system with a reaction force instrument can constitute a clamp meter. Come and see what problems need to be paid attention to when using the clamp meter.

When the clamp meter is used, like other measuring instruments, it is necessary to select the appropriate range first, and then reset the mechanical value to zero. If the reading is not obvious during measurement, it can be adjusted to a small range. If it is still not obvious, the wire under test can be wound a few turns.

When measuring, the voltage of the line under test should be lower than the rated voltage. At the same time, in order to reduce the error, the wire under test should be located in the center of the jaw during measurement, and the jaw should be closed tightly, and the range cannot be changed while electrified. In order to protect their own safety, when measuring current, especially high-voltage lines, protective measures should be taken, such as wearing insulating gloves and insulating shoes.
