Measuring the current of a charger with a multimeter

The current direction of the charger is from positive to negative, and generally the red line in the output line is mostly positive. When measuring, set the multimeter to DC mode, connect a high-power resistor to the negative wire of the charger, connect the red probe of the multimeter to the red wire, and connect the black probe to the other end of the resistor to measure. Note that if the multimeter displays 1, it indicates a small range and needs to be adjusted to a higher gear

1, I prefer a clamp multimeter for measuring current. This type of multimeter can be set to the current mode and then the wire clip can be inserted into the circular ring. However, please note that the wire inserted must be a single wire. If it is a single-phase power, only one of the live wire L or neutral wire N is stuck, and both cannot be stuck into the ring at the same time. Chargers L and N are both glued together wires. To measure the current, the wires need to be separated first. To avoid damaging the original rubber, two wires can be connected at the plug, and then another plug can be connected to the other end of the wire.

2, For other ordinary multimeter measurements, the charger's plug still needs to be connected to both the live and neutral plugs. Simply cut off one of the live or neutral wires, and connect the cut ends to the red and black probes respectively. When measuring the current, set the multimeter to the current mode, then turn on the power and check the reading. This method, as is often said, requires a multimeter to be connected in series with the circuit when measuring current. That's it.

The statement 'multimeter measures charger current' is not rigorous, and the maximum output current marked on the charger is a parameter in production design.

If we say 'measuring the charging current of a charger with a multimeter', it means disconnecting one of the positive or negative wires under load, and then connecting the multimeter set to DC current mode in series to the disconnected point for measurement.

Use a multimeter to measure direct current. The wiring principle is to allow current to flow in from the red probe and out from the black probe; Measure current in series and voltage across.

There are two ways to measure the current of a charger with a multimeter. One way is to measure the AC current at the input end, disconnect the two wires L or neutral wire N at the input end, set the multimeter to AC current mode, and gradually decrease from high gear to avoid burning the multimeter due to low gear until the accurate current is measured. The same method is used to measure DC output and stop, except that the multimeter is set to DC mode. Not just explaining clearly?
