Method of selecting a microscope objective lens

Olympus microscopes provide customers with a rich variety of functions of the objective lens selection, the following gives you a brief introduction to the different types of microscopes according to how to choose the objective lens.

First of all, Olympus objective lenses can be divided into PLN (flat-field achromatic), UPLFLN (universal half achromatic) and UPLSAPO (universal complex achromatic) three types of benchmarks, but also specifically corresponding to the phase contrast (PLN-PH, UPLFLN-PH) and corresponding to the polarised (PLN-P, UPLFLN-P) objective lens selection, and corresponds to the observation of the inverted microscope there are corresponding long working distance objective lenses (LUCPLFLN, CPLFLN), etc.

The basic parameters describing the objective lens include magnification, numerical aperture (N/A), working distance (WD), and field of view (F.N.), which may vary for different types of objectives with the same magnification.

Overall optical microscopes have some of the following observation modes:

BF: Bright Field, DF: Dark Field, PH: Phase Difference, PO: Polarisation, DIC: Differential Interference, FL: Fluorescence Observation (Blue, Green, Violet, etc.), UVFL (Ultraviolet Fluorescence Observation). And different objective lens types are suitable for some of these observations respectively. For example, the PLN (F.N.=22) type of objective lens can correspond to the following observation methods:

In addition to the objective lens itself, the microscope objective lens and the overall optical system of different types of microscopes can be reasonably matched to achieve the observation effect as well as the diversification of the product price ratio.
