Multimeter detects car voltage, let's learn together:

The "V" in the dial represents DC voltage, which is a commonly used area in automotive circuits. Because the power supply voltage of a typical car electrical system is 12-14.5V, the 20V range is usually selected.

The circuit is very similar to the waterway. The power supply is like a water pump, and the wires are like water pipes. Because of the pressure difference, water can flow. It is also because of the voltage difference and the closed circuit that current is formed.

To measure voltage, a multimeter can be directly connected in parallel to the contacts of the measured circuit to obtain the voltage difference between these two points. In general, the voltage we refer to is the voltage value relative to a certain point on the negative pole of the battery.

The specific operation steps are as follows.
1. Turn on the power switch of the multimeter, pull the gear switch of the multimeter to the DC voltage range, measure the power supply voltage of the car, and select the 20V gear.
2. Confirm that the red probe of the multimeter is detecting voltage and resistance V n, Socket, the black probe is in the "COM" socket.
3. Connect the red probe of the multimeter to the measured point and the black probe to the negative terminal of the multimeter or the vehicle grounding point, and read the current measurement result data.
4. If no further testing work is done after the test is completed, turn the multimeter gear switch to the off position and turn off the power switch.
The precautions are as follows.
1. Do not touch the metal end of the multimeter probe with your hands.
2. The measured point must be kept clean to ensure good contact between the probe and the measured terminal, and to obtain accurate readings. If necessary, the surface of the measured terminal should be cleaned of dirt and oxides.
3. After the measurement is completed, turn off the power. If there is "OFF", turn it to this gear. If not, return the gear switch to the highest AC voltage position.
