Multimeter - the most important characteristic of a diode is: one-way conductivity

Short circuit check (to determine whether the circuit is connected): Set the turntable to the short circuit (Digital Multimeter Function Diagram_Detailed Illustration of the Use of Digital Multimeter) position, and the position of the test leads is the same as above. Use the other ends of the two test leads to connect the two points to be measured respectively. If the two points are indeed short-circuited, the buzzer in the multimeter will sound.

Measure current
1. Disconnect the circuit;

2. Plug the black test lead into the COM port and the red test lead into the mA or 20A port;

3. Turn the function rotary switch to A~ (AC), A- (DC), and select the appropriate range;

4. Disconnect the line under test and connect the digital multimeter in series to the line under test. The current in the line under test flows into the red test lead from one end, flows out through the black test lead of the multimeter, and then flows into the line under test;

5. Connect the circuit;

6. Read the numbers on the LCD display.

Measure capacitance
1. Short-circuit both ends of the capacitor to discharge the capacitor to ensure the safety of the digital multimeter.

2. Turn the function rotary switch to the capacitance (C) measurement position and select the appropriate range.

3. Insert the capacitor into the C-X jack of the multimeter.

4. Read the numbers on the LCD display. Little knowledge: The unit of capacitance: 1F=1000mF=1000uF=1000nF=1000pF

Precautions for using digital multimeter
1. If the magnitude of the voltage or current to be measured cannot be estimated in advance, you should first measure it to the highest range, and then gradually reduce the range to the appropriate position depending on the situation. After the measurement is completed, the range switch should be moved to the highest voltage range and the power supply should be turned off.

2. At full scale, the meter only displays the number "1" in the highest digit, and the other digits disappear. In this case, a higher range should be selected.

3. When measuring voltage, the digital multimeter should be connected in parallel with the circuit under test. When measuring current, it should be connected in series with the circuit under test. When measuring DC flow, there is no need to consider the positive and negative polarity.

4. When the AC voltage block is misused to measure DC voltage, or the DC voltage block is misused to measure AC current, the display will display "000", or the low-digit numbers will jump.

5. It is prohibited to change the range when measuring high voltage (above 220V) or large current (above 0.5A) to prevent arcing and burning of switch contacts.
