Optical system maintenance and care of microscopes
Normally, the surface of each optical part of the microscope should be cleaned with a clean brush or wiped clean with mirror paper. When there is dirt, grease or fingerprints on the lens that cannot be wiped off, when the lens is mouldy or foggy, or when it is reused after a long period of suspension, it is necessary to wipe it before using it.
Wiping range eyepieces and spotting lenses are allowed to be disassembled and wiped. Objective lenses due to the complex structure, assembly and special instruments to correct in order to restore the original accuracy, so it is strictly prohibited to disassemble and wipe. When disassembling the eyepiece and spotting scope, the following points should be noted:
a. Be careful.
b, disassembly, to mark the relative position of the components (can be marked on the shell line for marking), the relative order and the front and back of the lens, in order to prevent the reloading of the wrong.
c. The operating environment should be kept clean and dry. When disassembling the eyepiece, just spin out the upper and lower lenses from both ends. The field of view light bar inside the eyepiece should not be moved. Otherwise, it will make the field of view boundary blur. It is strictly forbidden to further disassemble the upper lens of the spotting scope after it is rotated out. Because its upper lens is oil-immersed, factory after a good seal, and then decomposition will destroy its sealing performance and damage.
Wiping method first use a clean brush or blowing ball to remove the dust on the surface of the lens. Then use a clean flannel to make a spiral one-way movement from the centre of the lens to the edge. After wiping once, change the cloth to another place and wipe again until it is clean. If there are oil stains, dirt or fingerprints on the lens can not be wiped off, can be wrapped in a willow twig with degreasing cotton, dipped in a small amount of alcohol and ether mixture (alcohol 80%, ether 20%) wipe. If there is heavy mould or mould spots can not be removed, can be used cotton swabs dipped in water and moistened with calcium carbonate powder (content of 99% or more) for wiping. After wiping, the powder should be ** clean. Whether the lens is wiped clean or not, can be used to reflect the light on the lens to observe and check. It is important to note that dust must be removed before wiping. Otherwise, the grit in the dust will scratch the mirror surface with grooves. It is not allowed to use towel, handkerchief, clothes, etc. to wipe the lens. Alcohol and ether mixture should not be used too much, so as to avoid the liquid entering the adhesive part of the lens to make the lens decolourised. The surface of the lens has a violet-blue translucent film, which should not be mistaken for dirt and wiped away.
