Oscilloscopes are classified according to their structure and performance

 

① Ordinary oscilloscope. Circuit structure is simple, narrow bandwidth, poor scanning linearity, only used to observe the waveform.


② Multi-purpose oscilloscope. Wide bandwidth, good scanning linearity, DC, low-frequency, high-frequency, ultra-high-frequency signals and pulse signals can be quantitatively tested. With the help of amplitude calibrator and time calibrator, the accuracy of measurement can reach ±5%.


③ Multi-line oscilloscope. Adopting multi-beam oscilloscope, it can display the waveforms of more than two signals of the same frequency on the fluorescent screen at the same time, with no time difference and accurate timing relationship.


④ Multi-trace oscilloscope. With the structure of electronic switch and gating circuit, it can display the waveforms of more than two same-frequency signals on the fluorescent screen of single-beam oscilloscope at the same time. However, there is a time difference and the timing relationship is not accurate.


⑤ Sampling oscilloscope. Sampling technology is used to convert high-frequency signals into analogue low-frequency signals for display, and the effective frequency band can reach GHz level.


(6) Memory oscilloscope. Using memory oscilloscope or digital storage technology, the single electrical signal transient process, non-periodic phenomena and ultra-low-frequency signals are retained on the fluorescent screen of the oscilloscope for a long time or stored in the circuit for repeated testing.


(vii) Digital oscilloscope. Internal microprocessor with an external digital display, some products in the oscilloscope fluorescent screen can display both waveforms, but also display characters. The measured signal by the analogue-to-digital converter (A/D converter) into the data memory, through the keyboard, can be captured on the waveform parameters of the data, add, subtract, multiply, divide, seek the average, seek the square root value, seek the root-mean-square value of the operation, and display the answer to the number.
