Parameter regulated power supply selection and precautions

Parametric regulated power supply, i.e. ferromagnetic resonant (or magnetic saturation type) regulated power supply, is the use of magnetic material nonlinear and capacitive resonance way to achieve voltage regulation. Due to the application of the principle of ferromagnetic resonance, so that it has some relatively unique performance characteristics, such as:
1, high reliability (no electronic components, simple structure).

2, strong anti-interference ability (can achieve input and output bi-directional anti-interference).

3, no output overvoltage phenomenon.

4, wide input voltage range (half-load input voltage lower limit can exceed 50%).

5, short response time (about 40ms).

At the same time, it also brings some inherent defects to the regulated power supply:
1, poor load adaptability: changes in the nature of the load may result in a reduction in the regulated voltage range. Output accuracy decreases, temperature rise increases and other issues, so there is to adapt to strong inductive, strong capacitive and shock loads (such as motors, machine tools, rectifier equipment, etc.) must pay special attention.

2, poor frequency characteristics: ferromagnetic resonant power supply is very sensitive to the utility frequency, when the utility frequency changes by 1%, the output voltage changes by 2%, the frequency deviation is too large, it may not be able to stabilise the voltage or even generate low-frequency oscillations, so in mountainous areas of small hydropower and generator occasions can not be used.

3, temperature rise, noise: due to the transformer part of the magnetic circuit working in a saturated state, and thus the main transformer design temperature is higher than the general transformer; saturation caused by magnetic leakage is also larger, so that the noise of the whole machine is greater than the general regulated power supply.

Therefore, we would like to remind the partners or direct users, should pay attention to the following matters:
Parameter voltage regulator due to the principle of the reason, the frequency of the utility is very sensitive to changes in frequency changes of 1% (0.5HZ), the output voltage changes by 2% (4.4V). Therefore, for the frequency deviation of large areas and generator power supply should be used with caution.

In the actual use of parametric voltage regulator, but also pay attention to the size and nature of the load. As the nature of the load is different, it will also have an impact on the proportion of faults more. Common loads can be roughly divided into capacitive, inductive, resistive, impact, non-linear. Their impact on the parameters of the regulated power supply is as follows:

1, capacitive: capacitive loads will increase the resonant capacity of the parametric voltage regulator, increase the stability of the output voltage, expand the regulator range, but at the same time also make the output voltage value higher, the temperature rise of the transformer. Excessive temperature rise will damage the transformer insulation.

2, inductive: inductive loads will reduce the resonant capacity of the parametric voltage regulator, resulting in a drop in the output voltage, so that the output voltage stability deteriorates, the voltage range is reduced.

3, resistive: parametric voltage regulator performance indicators are measured under resistive loads, the impact is not significant.

4, inrush: most of these loads are motors, its start-up inrush current is 5 to 7 times the normal operating current, which will cause the output voltage to fall seriously, resulting in a load or oscillation.

5, non-linear: refers to the load current, voltage is not a linear relationship, it is a large instantaneous pulse current, the average power is not large, but the instantaneous power is very large, thus causing the parameter regulated power supply output voltage oscillation phenomenon.

The above loads, 1, 2, 3, 4 can be used to increase the regulator power to reduce the impact of the load, for non-linear loads it is recommended not to use parametric regulated power supply and change to ZTY automatic AC voltage regulator, JJW precision purification voltage regulator, UPS uninterruptible power supply. High-power please choose SBW power compensated voltage regulator and SJW microcomputer compensated voltage regulator series power supply is the best.
