pH meter acidity meter maintenance and storage method

When encountering situations where the pH meter acidity meter electrode has been used for a period of time and the response speed slows down or the slope decreases, the following methods can be tried, as follows:

If the measured sample is an oily/organic liquid, it can be washed with acetone or hexanol.

2. Activate the electrode membrane.

3. If the pH meter and acidity meter measure the presence of protein in the sample, the electrode membrane can be cleaned with gastric protease/hydrochloric acid wash solution (ME51340068).

4. If the electrode liquid network of the acidity meter becomes dirty and black, thiol cleaning solution (ME51340070) can be used to clean the liquid network.

Storage method for pH acidity meter electrode:
Please store the electrode in a 3mol/L potassium chloride solution (3MKCl) when not in use; It can be stored in pH 7.00 buffer solution for a short period of time. Drying or soaking the acidity meter electrode in distilled water for a long time will shorten the service life of the electrode.

When the composite electrode is not in use, it can be fully immersed in 3M potassium chloride solution. Do not soak in detergent or other absorbent reagents.

Before use, check the bubbles at the front end of the glass electrode. Under normal circumstances, the electrode should be transparent and free of cracks; The bubble should be filled with solution and there should be no bubbles present.
When measuring solutions with high concentrations, try to shorten the measurement time as much as possible, clean carefully after use, and prevent the measured liquid from adhering to the electrode and contaminating it.

After cleaning the electrode, do not use filter paper to wipe the glass film, but use filter paper to absorb dry to avoid damaging the glass film, preventing cross contamination, and affecting measurement accuracy.
During measurement, pay attention to immersing the silver chloride internal reference electrode into the chloride buffer solution inside the bulb to avoid the phenomenon of digital jumping in the display part of the meter. When using, be careful to gently shake the electrode a few times.

The pH meter electrode cannot be used for strong acids, strong bases, or other corrosive solutions. It is strictly prohibited to use in dehydrated media such as anhydrous hexanol, potassium dichromate, etc.
