pH meter probe cleaning
When we maintain the online pH meter equipment, we must also pay attention to some maintenance items to avoid unnecessary troubles in maintenance. Today, I will sort out some knowledge points about the online pH meter maintenance precautions and use precautions for your reference. Learning, everyone should know how to use the online PH meter. The following main content mainly introduces the use of the online PH meter after power-on, matters needing attention and maintenance precautions
Start to connect the power supply of the online pH meter, turn on the panel switch of the online pH meter, and preheat for ten minutes; then check the pH electrode, rinse it with distilled water, and use it immediately after it is dry;
On-line pH meter calibration: first calibrate with the standard buffer solution of the pH meter, and then calibrate with the standard buffer solution (the temperature of the measured solution should be the same as that of the standard buffer solution.) Do not move the knob after calibration.
On-line pH meter measurement: Put the pH electrode into the fully stirred solution. When the value display is stable, the temperature of the solution should be kept at room temperature as much as possible, and not overheated, so as to prevent the solution in the reference electrode from dissolving and reduce the flow path effect of the salt bridge.
Precautions for online pH meter maintenance
1. Clean up the debris around the protection tube of the online pH meter probe once a day, so that the liquid in contact with the pH probe is the actual measurement medium.
2. For the pH electrode equipped with a self-cleaning device, the pH electrode should be manually cleaned once a month. When cleaning, use a soft brush dipped in dilute hydrochloric acid or clean water to lightly brush the glass electrode to completely remove the dirt on the surface of the pH electrode.
3. Special attention should be paid to the fact that after cleaning the probe, if it is not installed immediately, the pH electrode must be temporarily placed in water, and it must not be placed dry to avoid probe failure.
4. If the electrode of the online pH meter has not been dry for a long time and dehydration fails, you can try to soak the electrode of the online pH meter in the buffer solution of pH 4.0 for 24 hours, and then take it out to check whether the detection function has been restored. If it still doesn't work properly, you can only replace the electrodes with new ones.
5. Regularly check the online pH meter (usually one month).
6. In addition to regular cleaning of the probe and regular calibration, it is also necessary to regularly compare the online pH controller with pH test paper. Especially when the color of the incoming water changes with the naked eye, but the pH controller shows no change, use test paper for comparison, or take a sample to the laboratory for comparison. Once the measurement result differs too much from the test paper test result, the sensor needs to be re-cleaned and calibrated.
7. Preservation of the electrodes of the online pH meter: the important point is to prevent dehydration of the electrodes, so before putting the electrodes of the online pH meter into use, do not take off the factory-made protective cap on the electrode head. Store the pH electrode flat in a cool place away from direct sunlight. When storing in winter, it should be protected from freezing to avoid freezing and cracking the electrode.
