PID gas detector can detect low concentration VOC.

PID gas detector can detect low concentration VOC.

The gases and vapors that can't be detected by PID gas detector include radioactive gas (Rm), air (N2, O2, CO2, H2O), common toxic gases (such as CO, SO2), natural gas (methane), acid gases (such as HCI, HF, HNO3), freon gas and ozone.

PID gas detector can detect very low concentration volatile organic compounds with high precision, which can meet the quantitative detection of low concentration benzene. It is a nondestructive testing instrument.

The calibration of gas detector is based on the corresponding ion current for a known gas with a known concentration. The instrument response of other gases is related to their own properties. A reading of 10ppm indicates that the instrument has produced an ion current which is the same as that of 10ppm calibration gas. The actual concentration of other gases that get this reading may be more or less than this value. Since the PID reading is always related to the calibration gas, this reading should be expressed as ppm units related to the calibration gas, and the actual measured concentration value cannot be directly used unless the detected pollutants are the same as the calibration gas, or the reading of the instrument has been corrected. Usually, isobutylene is used to calibrate PID, because the response sensitivity of the sensor to isobutylene is at an average level in VOC that can be detected by PID, which is relatively easy to obtain.

PID gas detector is mainly a PID photoionization gas sensor, which can detect very low concentration volatile organic compounds and other toxic gases. Especially for the sensitive detection of VOC, which is harmful to gas and plays an important role in its effective monitoring.

The use of PID photoionization sensor in gas detection instrument ensures the accuracy and precision of measurement data, and can measure VOC or other toxic gases from 0.1 to 2000 ppm. PID is a highly sensitive and wide range detector, which can be regarded as a "low concentration LEL detector".
