Pre use inspection content, usage and maintenance requirements for electric soldering irons
Inspection items for electric soldering iron before use:
1. Check the power cord with a multimeter for short circuits or open circuits;
2. Check if the soldering iron is leaking electricity; Whether the installation and connection of the power cord are firm;
3. Whether the screws are loose;
4. Whether the power cord on the handle is tightened;
5. Is there any damage to the power cord sleeve.
Usage of electric soldering iron
1. Before using a new soldering iron, the electric soldering iron must be treated before it can be used normally. Before use, the soldering iron head must be coated with a layer of solder.
2. Adjusting the length of the soldering iron head: After selecting the power of the electric soldering iron, adjust the length of the soldering iron head inserted into the soldering iron core according to the situation to control the temperature of the soldering iron head.
3. There are two types of soldering iron heads: straight head and elbow. When using the pen grip method, the electric soldering iron of the straight soldering iron head is flexible and suitable for welding in circuits with many components. The electric soldering iron with a curved soldering iron head is more suitable to use the forward grip method, and is mostly used for welding circuit boards when they are perpendicular to the desktop.
4. Electric soldering iron is not easy to be powered on for a long time without use, because it can easily accelerate the oxidation of the soldering iron core and burn it off. At the same time, it will also cause the soldering iron head to oxidize due to prolonged heating, and even be burned to death and no longer eat tin.
5. When replacing the soldering iron core, be careful not to connect the leads incorrectly. The electric soldering iron has three terminals, one of which is grounded, and the other two are connected to the soldering iron core and two leads. If the 220V AC power line is wrongly connected to the terminal of the grounding wire, the outer shell of the soldering iron will be charged, and the welded part will also be charged, which will cause an electric shock accident.
6. When using an electric soldering iron for welding, it is best to use rosin flux to protect the soldering iron head from corrosion.
Zinc chloride and acid welding oil are highly corrosive to the soldering head, which shortens the service life of the soldering head. It is not recommended to use.
7. After using the soldering iron, it should be placed on the soldering iron rack and handled gently. It is prohibited to throw the tin on the soldering iron indiscriminately.
Detection of electric soldering iron
Use a multimeter to measure the plug of the electric soldering iron (the resistance of the high-quality dual coil heating element inside). The resistance of a 20W electric soldering iron is about 2K, and the resistance range of a 30W electric soldering iron is about 1.7K-1.85k.
