Precautions when measuring current with a multimeter
Before measuring the current, first determine the DC current or the AC current, turn the switch to the DC current file or the AC current file; select the appropriate range; connect the multimeter in series to the circuit; the measured current value is:
I = range/full scale × pointer index
When measuring the current, pay attention: if the DC current is measured, the positive and negative poles of the meter cannot be reversed; the meter must be connected in series to the circuit.
