Principle/classification/purpose and application of laser rangefinder
Laser rangefinder
Laser rangefinder is an instrument that uses laser to accurately measure the distance of a target. The laser rangefinder emits a very thin laser beam towards the target during operation, and the photoelectric element receives the reflected laser beam from the target. The timer measures the time from the laser beam to the receiving point and calculates the distance from the observer to the target
principle
1. The principle of using infrared ranging or laser ranging
2. The plane of the measured object must be perpendicular to the light rays
3. It can be measured that the plane of the object is diffuse reflection
4. Ultrasonic ranging accuracy is relatively low and is rarely used nowadays.
5. The accuracy of the laser rangefinder can reach an error of 1 millimeter, making it suitable for various high-precision measurement purposes.
classification
Laser rangefinders are divided into laser rangefinders and telescope type laser rangefinders.
1. Handheld laser rangefinder: The measurement distance is generally within 200 meters, with an accuracy of about 2mm. This is currently the most widely used laser rangefinder. In terms of functionality, in addition to being able to measure distance, it can generally calculate and measure the volume of an object.
2. Cloud service laser rangefinder: Real time transmission of measurement data from the laser rangefinder to mobile terminals such as mobile phones and tablets through Bluetooth Meterbox; Through WiFi networking, data can be transmitted to cloud servers for real-time sharing of measurement data among remote construction partners, such as iLDM-150.
3. Telescopic laser rangefinder: The measurement distance is generally around 600-3000 meters. This type of rangefinder measures a relatively long distance, but its accuracy is relatively low, usually around 1 meter. The main application scope is long-distance field measurement.
purpose
Laser rangefinders are widely used in terrain measurement, battlefield measurement, tanks, aircraft, ships, and artillery
Distance measurement of targets, measuring the heights of clouds, aircraft, missiles, and artificial satellites. It is an important technical equipment for improving the accuracy of high tanks, aircraft, ships, and artillery. Due to the continuous decrease in the price of laser rangefinders, they are gradually being used in industry and can be widely used in industrial measurement and control, mining, ports and other fields
