Principle of operation and use of clamp ammeter
The important part of the clamp ammeter is the clamp core sensor. By pressing the trigger, the sensor opens to clamp the killed wire; it can pass through the clamp opening without cutting it. The wire passing through the iron core becomes the primary coil of the current transformer, in which current is induced in the secondary coil. As a result, the ammeter connected to the secondary coil has an indication LCD to display the current of the circuit under test. ETCR series clamp ammeters automatically shift and are easy to operate. Principle of operation and use of clamp ammeter
Clamp ammeter usage:
1. Select the grade requirements, range and resolution of the clamp ammeter according to the conditions of the circuit under test. Check whether the core of the jaws is intact, whether there is any rust, whether the jaws can be opened and closed sensitively, etc.
2. Before use, you should be familiar with the instructions and operate as required.
3. During on-site inspection, one single-phase line can be directly tested (line current measurement); the main line and neutral line can be clamped together (line leakage current); three-wire lines need to be tested individually. by measurement
It can determine the absorption current, leakage current and ground current to determine whether the motor is overloaded.
4. The voltage of the circuit under test cannot exceed the value indicated on the clamp ammeter, otherwise it will easily cause a grounding accident or risk of electric shock. The current of the line under test cannot exceed the ammeter limit. If the current value of the line under test is too large, the long-range clamp meter needs to be replaced.
Tips for using the clamp ammeter: When testing a small current, first wind the wire of the circuit under test several times, and then clamp it with the clamp meter for testing. The data obtained is the clamp meter reading divided by the number of turns of the wire. This way the measured value is more accurate
