Safety Precautions for the Operation of Industrial VOC Gas Detectors
VOC gas detector is a volatile gas detection instrument that can obtain accurate measurement results during use. Usually, in order to ensure the accuracy of its measurement results, it is necessary to pay attention to some usage precautions during the use of the instrument. Below, we will introduce the precautions for using VOC detectors.
Precautions for using VOC gas detector
1. The VOC detector is powered by batteries, which consume a certain amount of electricity even when turned off. If the instrument is left for 5-7 days without charging, its battery level will be very low. Using the instrument in this state will have a certain impact on the battery. Therefore, it is necessary to charge the instrument before or after use to keep it fully charged. Newly purchased instruments should be charged for at least 10 hours before use.
When using a VOC detector, there may be a small amount of organic or inorganic gases in its detection chamber pipeline. Therefore, some values may appear on the display screen after startup. When this situation occurs, the instrument should be started in an environment without organic toxic gases. After completely discharging the gas inside the instrument, the counter will display normally.
During the use of the instrument, the filter cannot be removed as it can cause smoke and dust to enter the interior of the instrument, affecting its accuracy. In severe cases, it may damage the instrument and have a certain impact on the lifespan of the sensor.
To avoid electric shock during use, it is recommended to turn off the power before opening the instrument cover. If the instrument needs to be repaired, the battery should be disconnected from the instrument. It is prohibited to repair the instrument while it is powered on, and it must be carried out in a safe environment.
If the VOC detector needs maintenance, it should be operated by professional repair personnel. And before using the instrument, it is necessary to read and understand the instruction manual completely.
The function of VOC gas detector
1. The VOC gas detector can accurately measure the gas concentration of total organic volatile compounds (TVOC) in isobutene units.
If the target gas detected by the instrument is a single VOC gas, the concentration value of this gas can be accurately measured, provided that the specific type of VOC gas needs to be determined first.
If the detector is used in multiple VOC gas environments and the proportion of each gas is clear, it can accurately measure the concentration
value of each gas (only for VOC detectors with this function).
If the user only has a rough understanding of the target gas types in the current environment, then the VOC detector can be used as an alarm for hazardous areas. The general method used is that users can select the alarm threshold of the VOC gas with the lower alarm threshold based on their approximate knowledge of the type, as the current alarm threshold set by the instrument. This ensures that the gas concentration value will alarm in a timely manner when it exceeds the set value.
