Scope of application of switching power supply
Applicable to the full voltage range, no voltage drop is required, and different circuit topologies can be used to achieve different output requirements. Regulation and output ripple are not as good as linear power supplies, with high efficiency. Many peripheral components are required, and the cost is high. The circuit is relatively complex. The main circuit types of switching DC regulated power supply are single-ended flyback, single-ended forward, half-bridge, push-pull and full-bridge. The fundamental difference between it and the linear regulated power supply is that the transformer in the circuit does not work at the power frequency but works at tens of kilohertz to several megahertz. The power tube does not work in the linear region, but in the saturation and cut-off region, that is, it works in the switching state; the switching DC regulated power supply is also named for this.
