The direct measurement method refers to the measurement method in which the probe of the electric test pen directly contacts the measured object to judge whether it is charged or not.
When using the direct measurement method, touch the metal probe of the test pen to the object to be measured, and at the same time press and hold the DIRECT button. The approximate value of the measured voltage, some test pens can display 5 voltage values of 12V, 36V, 55V, 110V and 220V, and the last displayed value on the display is the measured voltage value (when it is less than 70% of the high-end display value, it will display Low-end value), such as the last displayed value of the test pen is 110V, the actual voltage may be 77 ~ 154V.
(2) Induction measurement method
Induction measurement method refers to the measurement method in which the probe of the electric test pen is close to but not in contact with the measured object, and the voltage induction is used to judge whether the measured object is charged. When using the inductive measurement method, move the metal probe of the test pen close to but not in contact with the object to be measured, and press the INDUCTANCE button at the same time. There will be a high voltage symbol displayed.
The inductive measurement method is very suitable for judging the location of broken wires inside insulated conductors. During the test, press and hold the induction measurement button of the test pen, and touch the probe of the test pen to the insulation layer of the wire. If the indicator light is on, it means that the inner core wire at the current position is charged, then keep the probe in contact with the insulation layer of the wire, and move away from the power supply When the indicator light goes out suddenly and the high voltage symbol disappears, it indicates that there is a disconnection at the current position.
