Skills for Temperature Measurement with Infrared Thermometers
Infrared temperature measurement technology plays an important role in product quality control and monitoring, online fault diagnosis and safety protection of equipment, and energy conservation in the production process. So, what aspects should we pay attention to when choosing an infrared thermometer?
1. Temperature range:
The temperature range of Raytek products is -50~3000 degrees (segmented), and each model of thermometer has its specific temperature measurement range. The temperature range of the selected instrument should match the specific temperature range used.
2. Policy size:
When measuring temperature, the target being measured should be larger than the field of view of the thermometer, otherwise there may be measurement errors. It is recommended that the size of the measured policy should span 50 degrees beyond the field of view of the thermometer.
3. Optical resolution (D: S):
The ratio of the thermometer probe to the target diameter. If the thermometer is far away from the policy and the policy is small, a high-resolution thermometer should be chosen.
Tips for measuring temperature using an infrared thermometer:
When measuring the temperature profile of a luminous object, such as aluminum and stainless steel, the reflection of the profile will affect the reading of the infrared thermometer. Before reading the temperature, a rubber strip can be placed on the metal profile, and after the temperature is balanced, the temperature in the rubber strip area can be measured.
To ensure accurate temperature measurement with an infrared thermometer that can travel back and forth from the kitchen to the cold storage area, it is necessary to wait for a period of time under new conditions to reach temperature equilibrium before measuring again. The thermometer can be placed in a frequently used location.
Use an infrared thermometer to read the internal temperature of fluid food, such as soup or sauce, which must be stirred before measuring the overall temperature. Keep the thermometer away from steam to avoid contaminating the lens and causing inaccurate readings.
