Soldering iron - other purchasing skills
1. Temperature accuracy of welding tip
the
Nowadays, the electronic components to be soldered are getting smaller and more precise, and the temperature requirements are getting stricter, so the temperature accuracy of the soldering iron is also very important. Many people think that if there is a difference between the set temperature and the actual temperature of the soldering tip, it means that the performance of the soldering iron is faulty or damaged, but this is not the case. The difference between the tip temperature and the actual temperature is mainly affected by two factors, including the size and shape of the solder resistance, the loss of the tip and the heating core. For details, please refer to "Title 7 The relationship between the set temperature of the soldering station and the actual temperature of the welding tip" in this booklet.
2. Welding temperature management
When using a temperature-regulated soldering iron, some operators may change the temperature intentionally or unintentionally, and fail to return the temperature to the original temperature after the change, which may affect the welding work. In order to avoid such a situation, the temperature-adjusting soldering iron must be equipped with a temperature adjustment lock function to lock the set temperature. Some soldering irons have a temperature adjustment lock function, such as WD1000, etc.
3. The safety of electronic components
When soldering, the soldering iron is in direct contact with the electronic components. If the soldering iron itself has static electricity or a large leakage voltage, it will damage some electronic components that are sensitive to static electricity or leakage voltage. Therefore, when soldering some sensitive components, it is necessary to choose an electric soldering iron with anti-static function (ESD). In addition, choose a soldering iron with low leakage voltage. For example, welding stations such as WSD81 are designed for anti-static, and use 24 volts to generate heat; heating materials with low voltage and high insulation resistance can make the welding station have a leakage voltage lower than 2 millivolts; use anti-static materials with a surface impedance value of 105~ When it is between 109Ω, it is safe and reliable even if sensitive components are welded.
4. Safety for users
When choosing a soldering iron, you must also take care of the operator's use. If soldering is performed on the production line, the operator will need to hold the soldering iron for a long time to perform soldering work. In this way, the design of the shape of the soldering iron itself is very important. If the soldering iron itself is too large or too heavy, the operator will feel tired or uncomfortable, and the work efficiency will be reduced. A soldering iron with a particularly light, comfortable and easy-to-control handle can be used for a long time without feeling tired, thereby improving work efficiency. In addition, the use of low-voltage heating core can avoid electric shock due to leakage.
