Specific Operating Procedures for 4‑in‑1 Gas Detectors
4‑in‑1 gas detectors feature easy portability, flexible operation and on‑line measurement capabilities. They are widely used in agriculture, chemical industry, construction, electric power, fire protection, natural‑gas industry, iron and steel industry, petrochemical sector, sewage treatment and other fields. This instrument is designed to measure four gases: hydrogen sulfide, carbon monoxide, oxygen and combustible gas. Many users are confused about its operation after purchase. The operating procedures are as follows:
① Safety confirmation before entering working area Complete safety verification prior to entry. Access to the work site is permitted only after all hazards are ruled out. If the detector triggers an alarm, personnel shall evacuate immediately. Force ventilation shall be performed for no less than half an hour before re‑testing. Testers shall record measurement results on confirmation sheets and take full responsibility for data accuracy.
② Flip warning sign as required after detection Hang the warning sign at a reliable position near the site entrance. Unauthorized personnel are forbidden to flip it, and external interference shall be avoided. Personnel may enter only when the green side of the sign is visible. The shift production supervisor shall supervise testers to ensure regulation implementation.
③ Place the probe into the target atmosphere If gas leakage occurs, concentration readings will rise. When values exceed preset alarm thresholds, alarm indicator lights turn on and audible alarm is activated. The maximum reading will appear when the probe approaches the leakage source.
④ Low‑battery prompt When low‑power warning appears, power off the instrument promptly and charge the battery. Charging duration shall be 10‑14 hours per cycle.
⑤ Charging procedure Plug the charger into AC220V mains socket, then connect the charging plug to the detector's charging port. Turn on the instrument power switch to start charging. Green operation lamp lights up and battery indicator flashes; the screen displays "‑‑‑‑". After full charging, turn off power switch and disconnect the charger.
⑥ Personnel requirement for detection work At least two persons shall be present during testing: one operator and one safety observer, keeping proper distance between each other. Single‑person operation is strictly prohibited. Operators must comply with testing specifications, perform duties conscientiously and keep testing rules, operating methods and control standards in mind.
