Steps in the use of the stereomicroscope and the precautions to be taken when using it
Stereo microscope, is a macroscopic magnification of the small microscope, can be used for observation, photography and analysis, etc., there are also excellent research-grade stereo microscope (magnification and objective lens higher and better), generally magnified 6-200 times or so. The stereo microscope is generally only used as a stereotypical analysis, for qualitative measurements are not very accurate, you must know a definite body magnification ratio and with the software or eyepiece measuring tape can be completed.
(1) After mounting the microscope, make sure that the power supply voltage is the same as the rated voltage of the stereomicroscope before plugging in the power supply, switching on the power switch, and selecting the illumination mode;
(2) According to the specimens observed, select the stage plate (when observing transparent specimens, use the hairy glass stage plate; when observing opaque specimens, use the black-and-white stage plate), load it into the hole of the stage plate of the base, and lock it;
(3) loosen the focusing slide on the fastening screws, adjust the height of the mirror body, so that it is consistent with the selected objective lens magnification roughly the same working distance. After adjustment, lock the bracket, and tighten the safety ring against the focusing bracket and lock it;
(4) mount the eyepiece, first loosen the screw on the eyepiece barrel, mount the eyepiece and then tighten this screw (eyepiece into the stereo microscope eyepiece barrel, be especially careful not to touch the lens lens surface by hand);
(5) Adjust the pupil distance, when the user through the two eyepieces to observe the field of view in the field of view is not a circular field of view, should trigger the two prism box, change the eyepiece barrel of the pupil distance, so as to achieve the ability to observe a completely overlap of the circular field of view (indicating that the pupil distance has been adjusted);
(6) Observe the specimen (focus on the specimen). First, the left eyepiece barrel on the optic circle adjusted to the 0 mark position. Usually, the first from the right eyepiece barrel (i.e., fixed eyepiece barrel) in the observation, the zoom cylinder (with a zoom device model) to * high times the position, turn the focusing handwheel to focus on the specimen until the specimen's image is clear, and then the zoom cylinder to * low times the position, at this time, with the left eyepiece barrel to observe, such as unclear along the axial adjustment of the eyepiece barrel on the degree of view of the circle until the specimen's image is clear, and then again bimanual observation of its focusing Effect;
(7) At the end of the observation, switch off the power, remove the specimen, and cover the microscope tightly with a dust cover.
Leica microscope precautions:
(1) The instrument should be protected from direct sunlight, high temperature, humidity, dust and corrosion by acid and alkali gases;
(2) The working room should be kept clean frequently, and the stereo microscope should be covered with a dust cover after use;
(3) Stereo microscope should be placed on a firm and stable worktable;
(4) Stereo microscope operation should avoid dirt or finger stained lens, colour filters.
