A knowledge about switching power supply chip

 

This chip is also a switching power supply control chip, and the internal structure is still PWM control.


However, this chip has the following obvious differences compared with half of the commonly used switching power supply chips


1. The input voltage range of the chip is wide, the general chip is about 10-30V, this 4-60V


2. The input voltage range of the whole machine is low. Generally, the input voltage range of the whole power supply is 100-400V. The input voltage range of the whole machine made by this chip is also 4-60V.


3. The input and output are not isolated. Generally, the input and output terminals of the switching power supply are isolated. The input and output of the power supply made by this chip are not isolated, that is, there is a common ground


4. The drive is different. Generally, the chip output driver of the switching power supply is to drive the N-type MOS tube, and this output is to drive the P-type MOS tube.


5. The nature of the input voltage is different. The general switching power supply is designed to adapt to the AC input of the mains. This chip is designed to adapt to the DC power input. This is why this chip is called a DC-DC chip. Of course, if this chip is fully equipped with a rectifier bridge and It is also possible to convert the capacitor filter into DC and then supply power, but pay attention to the input voltage range. The maximum DC input range of 60V is equivalent to 42V in AC. In this way, a switching power supply with AC 42V input and no isolation is practical. It doesn't make much sense,
