Switching power supply wiring methods and precautions
1. Selection of switching power supply should be noted that
(1) Select the appropriate input voltage specifications.
(2) Select the appropriate power. In order to increase the life of the power supply, it is recommended to choose a model with 30% more output power rating. For example, if the system requires a 100W power supply, it is recommended to select more than 130W output power rated models, and so on can effectively enhance the life of the power supply.
(3) Consider the load characteristics. If the load is a motor, light bulb or capacitive load, the current is higher when the power is switched on instantly, and a suitable power supply should be selected to avoid overloading. If the load is a motor, the voltage back-up during shutdown should be considered.
(4) In addition to the need to consider the operating temperature of the power supply, and there is no additional auxiliary heat dissipation equipment, the power supply needs to be too high in the ring temperature derating output. Ring temperature on the output power derating curve
(5) According to the application of the required selection of functions: protection functions: over-voltage protection (OVP), over-temperature protection (OTP), overload protection (OLP), etc.. Application Functions: Signal Function (Normal Power Supply, Power Supply Failure), Remote Control Function, Telemetry Function, Parallel Connection Function, etc. Special functions: power factor correction (PFC), uninterrupted power supply (UPS)
(6) Select the required safety regulations and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) certification.
2. Precautions for the use of switching power supply
(1) Before using the power supply, first determine whether the input and output voltage specifications and the nominal value of the power supply used are consistent.
(2) Before applying power, check whether the input and output leads are connected correctly to avoid damaging the user's equipment.
(3) Check whether the installation is firm, whether the mounting screws have any contact with the power supply board devices, and measure the insulation resistance of the shell and the input and output to avoid electric shock.
(4) To ensure the safety of use and reduce interference, please ensure that the ground terminal is reliably grounded
(5) Multiple output power supply is generally divided into main and auxiliary outputs, the main output characteristics are better than the auxiliary output, and in general the output current is larger than the main output. In order to ensure the output load adjustment rate and output dynamics and other indicators, it is generally required to bring at least 10% of the load in each circuit. If the auxiliary circuit without the main circuit, the main circuit must be added appropriate false load. Specific Refer to the specification of the corresponding model.
(6) Please note: Frequent switching of the power supply will affect its life.
(7) The working environment and the degree of load will also affect its life.
