The advantages of fiber optic infrared thermometer

1. Due to the separation of the optical system and circuit system, the optical system of the thermometer can be installed in a high-temperature environment (capable of withstanding 200 degrees Celsius in the field environment) and can work stably online for a long time when applied in industrial sites. Due to the complete absence of electricity in the optical system, the industrial site where it is installed is completely explosion-proof. The circuit part of the thermometer can be installed indoors or away from high temperature sites, connected through optical fibers and optical paths, completely avoiding the interference of high temperature on the instrument's temperature measurement.

2. Due to the fact that the infrared signal of the fiber optic infrared thermometer is transmitted to the sensor through a special material's infrared optical fiber, when the optical path is focused on the optical fiber, only the spot with the size of the fiber optic cross-section can be transmitted to the sensor through the optical fiber. This avoids the impact of large areas of light directly focusing on the sensor and baking it on the stability and lifespan of the sensor. Moreover, infrared optical fibers are made of special materials, allowing only the desired infrared band to be selected through the fiber, further reducing the baking of light on the sensor. Therefore, compared to integrated infrared thermometers, light infrared thermometers have better stability and longer service life.

The main application areas of fiber optic infrared thermometers
Infrared thermometers are widely used in industry, with portable infrared thermometers and online infrared thermometers being the most commonly used. At present, with the increasingly mature technology of fiber optic infrared thermometers and their increasingly prominent advantages in industrial sites, fiber optic infrared thermometers have gradually begun to replace integrated infrared thermometers for online temperature measurement and are applied in various occasions in industrial sites.

The main application market of fiber optic infrared thermometer is currently in industrial sites. Because integrated infrared thermometers have strict requirements for the operating environment, it is generally necessary to keep the instrument installed in environments where the temperature does not exceed 50 degrees Celsius. Otherwise, the measurement values may be distorted and even the instrument may be damaged due to the influence of temperature on circuit components. Therefore, integrated infrared thermometers commonly used online in industrial fields are equipped with cooling protection measures such as water-cooled sleeves, which is difficult to install and costly to use. The fiber optic infrared thermometer adopts a split design, which installs the optical path system (i.e. optical probe) that is basically not affected by temperature on the temperature measurement site; Installing signal processing/displays that require strict environmental temperature requirements in a location far away from the temperature measurement site can ensure that the signal processing/displays always work properly; In the middle, an infrared fiber optic is used to transmit the infrared signal received by the optical probe to the signal processor for processing. In this way, the instrument has long-term stability and reliability, and is easy to install without the need for cooling measures such as water cooling. It has low operating costs and convenient equipment maintenance.
