Delmhorst's BD-10 hygrometer is calibrated for wood humidity readings used in flooring, nails, and other hardwood materials. For all other building materials, BD-10 has a secondary reference humidity reading scale. Although wood reading scales can provide quantitative measurements of moisture in wood, reference scales can provide qualitative moisture measurements. This reference humidity reading table is typically used for rapid pass/fail moisture content assessment in non wood materials.
Because this instrument is of the analog type and has a simple button pressing operation, it is very easy to learn. This makes it very suitable for amateur users and professionals who need a simple moisture testing device for their employees, who are accustomed to testing moisture content.
Calibration check of built-in hygrometer
Any humidity testing equipment, no matter how rugged, will eventually slide out of calibration. It is important to have a means of testing the accuracy of the needle hygrometer in an instant notification. In most cases, this requires secondary devices such as moisture content standards (MCS). However, in the case of the BD-10 needle hygrometer, the device has built-in calibration checks.
To verify the accuracy of Delmhurst's BD-10 hygrometer, you only need to press the button once. The odometer is responsible for the rest of the work. If the hygrometer is accurate, the needle should fall somewhere within the green band on the analog display.

Multifunctional probe socket compatible with any Demhorst electrode
Like all Delmhorst needle hygrometer models, the BD-10 features a universal probe socket design that allows users to connect any Delmhorst hygrometer electrode to it. This greatly improves the practicality of the BD-10 needle hygrometer, as the dedicated electrode allows it to be used to test different building materials in areas that are difficult to reliably reach with the standard needle at the top of the meter.
For example, the 26-ES electrode can penetrate into the insulation layer for safe testing, or it can use insulation needles to penetrate walls to test the glass fiber (or other insulation materials) behind it.
