The Application of Gas Detectors in Medical Manufacturing

Hazardous gases

The possibility of methane (CH3OH), ethanol (C2H6O), total volatile organic compounds (TVOC) and other gases in the factories, laboratories, and warehouses of large pharmaceutical factories. Methanol has low toxicity to the human body and has an anesthetic effect on the central nervous system; Has a special selective effect on the optic nerve and retina, causing lesions; May cause metabolic acidosis. Ethanol is low toxic, volatile, and a central nervous system inhibitor. Long term exposure to high concentrations of this product can cause symptoms of nasal, eye, and mucosal irritation, as well as headaches, dizziness, fatigue, irritability, tremors, nausea, etc. Long term skin contact can cause dryness, peeling, cracking, and dermatitis. TVOC can cause immune imbalance in the body, affect the function of the central nervous system, and cause conscious symptoms such as dizziness, headache, drowsiness, weakness, and chest tightness; It may also affect the digestive system, leading to loss of appetite, nausea, and in severe cases, damage to the liver and hematopoietic system, as well as allergic reactions.

According to the relevant regulations in the national standard "Occupational Exposure Limits for Hazardous Factors in the Workplace", methanol: PC-TWA: 25mg/m3 (17.5ppm), PC-STEL: 50mg/m3 (35ppm); Ethanol: PC-TWA, 1900mg/m3 (911ppm), PC-STEL 2400mg/m3 (1151ppm); TVOC: PC-TWA 0.60mg/m3, PC-STEL no; PC-TWA: The average allowable exposure concentration for an 8-hour working day and a 40-hour working week, with time as the weight.

In order to fully ensure the environmental safety within the factory area, a toxic gas detection system should be installed to monitor the factory building, laboratory, warehouse, etc. in real time. When a certain gas content exceeds the standard, timely measures should be taken to avoid danger.

1. On site gas monitoring plan

Detectors can continuously monitor measurable gases in industrial environments and convert gas concentrations into digital signals, which are transmitted to gas alarm controllers for identification, display, and processing. When the indicator of a certain gas to be tested on site exceeds or falls below the set standard, the controller system will automatically perform a series of alarm actions, such as alarm, exhaust, trip, etc. (depending on the user's different settings).

2. Data transmission scheme

YC-G type data remote transmission terminal is a new type of data acquisition sensor data terminal equipment with high flexibility and reliability that our company has carefully developed and developed based on years of experience in designing and producing data acquisition equipment.

This device can be widely used to support fixed gas detectors and gas control cabinets with modbus protocol. Real time monitoring of on-site gas concentration, real-time collection and transmission of various data. Real time reading of concentration values, decimal places, units, equipment status, and other information can be achieved by connecting to the detection equipment through a 485 communication cable, and uploaded to the company's data monitoring server center at set time intervals.

3. Terminal system solution

The Baoshi An Industrial Gas Online Monitoring Platform utilizes new technologies such as the Internet of Things, cloud technology, big data, and mobile internet to achieve real-time gas data reporting, remote control, and equipment management. This enables the monitoring of hazardous gas leakage events within the monitoring area and prompts for alarms. It can effectively prevent the occurrence of hazardous accidents in enterprises, achieve gas leakage and management in the production process, and ensure the safety of enterprise production.

Managers can view real-time values of monitoring area parameters at any time through computers, mobile phones, tablets, etc. When the relevant parameters exceed the limit, an alarm message is issued to remind the manager to take corresponding measures, and control commands can be issued to the relevant equipment through a computer or smartphone to achieve remote control of gas parameters in the monitoring area.
