The causes and solutions of faults in combustible gas detectors
There are two possible reasons for the malfunction of the comprehensive combustible gas detector: non-standard construction process and inadequate maintenance. Both have the potential to cause malfunctions in combustible gas detectors. Improper construction processes can cause combustible gas detectors to malfunction during use. If the combustible gas detector is not located near the equipment that is prone to combustible gas leakage, or is installed adjacent to the exhaust fan, the leaked combustible gas cannot fully diffuse to the vicinity of the combustible gas detector, thus preventing the leakage risk from being detected by the combustible gas detector in a timely manner.
The combustible gas detector in residential areas should be installed near the gas pipeline and stove in the kitchen. When the household is using natural gas, the gas detector should be installed on the ceiling within 300mm of the ceiling; When residents use liquefied petroleum gas, gas detectors should be installed within 300mm of the ground. If the combustible gas detector is not reliably grounded and cannot eliminate electromagnetic interference, it will inevitably affect the voltage and cause inaccurate detection data faults.
Therefore, the combustible gas detector should be reliably grounded during the construction process. The combustible gas detector and its wiring terminals are located in areas that are prone to collision or water ingress, causing open or short circuits in electrical circuits. Welding must use non corrosive flux, otherwise the corrosion at the joint will detach or increase the line resistance, affecting normal detection. Do not drop or throw the detector onto the ground. After construction, debugging should be carried out to ensure that the combustible gas alarm is in normal working condition.
The maintenance of combustible gas detectors is also important. Due to the harsh working environment of combustible gas detectors, many of them are installed outdoors and often suffer from various dust and polluting gases. In order to detect combustible gas information, combustible gas detectors must communicate with the detection environment. Therefore, it is inevitable that various polluting gases and dust in the environment enter the detector, and the damage to the working conditions of the detector caused by them is objective. If maintenance is not paid attention to, the detection of combustible gas alarms will be blocked, leading to errors or failure to detect. Therefore, regular cleaning and maintenance of combustible gas detectors is an important task to prevent malfunctions.
Another thing to note is that grounding should be regularly tested. If the grounding does not meet the standard requirements or is not grounded at all, it can also make the combustible gas detector susceptible to electromagnetic interference and cause malfunctions. Prevent aging of components. From the perspective of reliability, and practical experience has shown that the number of failures caused by component aging in systems with a service life of more than 10 years for combustible gas detectors tends to increase. Therefore, if the service life exceeds the specified requirements, it should be replaced in a timely manner.
