The characteristics and working principle of the sugar meter
The sugar meter is used to quickly determine the concentration or refractive index of sugar-containing solutions and other non-sugar solutions. Widely used in sugar, food, beverage and other industrial sectors as well as agricultural production and scientific research. It is suitable for the concentration measurement of various sauce (seasoning) products such as soy sauce, tomato sauce, and the sugar content measurement of jam, syrup, liquid sugar and other products containing a lot of sugar. It is suitable for the production line of fruit juice, refreshing drinks and carbonated drinks , quality management, pre-delivery inspection, etc. It is suitable for the process of fruit from planting to sales. It can be used to determine the exact harvest time and classify the sweetness. In addition, the determination of the concentration of pulp in the textile industry is also widely used.
The phenomenon of refraction occurs when light enters another medium from one medium, and the ratio of the sine of the incident angle is constant, and this ratio is called the refractive index. The content of soluble solids in fruit and vegetable juice is directly proportional to the refractive index under certain conditions (same temperature and pressure), so the concentration of fruit and vegetable juice (the amount of sugar content) can be obtained by measuring the refractive index of fruit and vegetable juice. Commonly used instruments are hand-held refractometers, also known as sugar mirrors and hand-held sugar content meters. By measuring the soluble solid content (sugar content) of fruits and vegetables, the quality of fruits and vegetables can be understood, and the maturity of fruits can be roughly estimated. The hand-held sugar meter is generally cylindrical. Put the sugar solution to be tested into the openable tank at the back, wipe it evenly, close the cover, and then point the sugar meter to the light, and read it from the front hole.
