The difference between carbon monoxide and combustible detectors

Carbon monoxide detectors and combustible gas detectors are very different, and many dealers and users often confuse the two. In fact, there is a big difference between the two. If you accidentally install a combustible gas detector where a carbon monoxide detector is needed, and install a carbon monoxide detector where a combustible gas detector should be installed, it will endanger people's lives. Cause great damage to property.

Carbon monoxide detectors are used to detect carbon monoxide gas (CO). It cannot be used to detect alkane gases such as methane (CH4).

Combustible gas detectors on the market can usually be used to detect natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas or coal gas, etc. City pipeline gas is usually one of these three gases. The main component of these gases is alkane gases such as methane (C4H4), whose main characteristic is a pungent smell. When the concentration of these flammable gases in the air exceeds a certain level, it will cause an explosion. The combustible gas detector is for this kind of explosive alkane gas and cannot be used to detect carbon monoxide gas.

Urban pipeline coal gas is a relatively special gas, which contains both CO and alkane gases. Therefore, if you only detect whether there is a leak of pipeline gas, you can use either a carbon monoxide detector or a combustible gas detector. However, if you want to detect whether excessive carbon monoxide gas is produced when pipeline natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas or coal gas is burned, you need to use a carbon monoxide detector. In addition, when heating with a coal stove and burning coal, etc., carbon monoxide gas (CO) is produced, not alkane gases such as methane (CH4). So a carbon monoxide detector should be used instead of a combustible gas detector. If a coal stove is used for heating and coal is burned, installing a combustible gas detector is of no use. If a person is poisoned, the combustible gas detector will not sound. This is quite dangerous.

In short, if you want to detect toxic gases and are concerned about whether you will be poisoned, then you must choose Hunan Guorui handheld or fixed carbon monoxide detector. If you want to detect explosive gases and are concerned about whether there are leaks in the pipeline, you can generally use Hunan Guorui handheld or fixed combustible gas detectors. Hunan Guorui adopts the catalytic combustion detection principle to detect the concentration values of various combustible gases, with infrared remote control, audible and visual alarms and other features. It is widely used in petrochemical industry, metallurgy, mining, fire protection, gas, electric power communications, Urban water supply, sewage treatment, scientific research, education, and national defense.
