The difference between contact infrared thermometer and non-contact infrared thermometer

 

1. Non contact thermometers do not touch the object itself when measuring objects, and have no effect on the object itself. However, contact thermometers require contact with the surface of the object being measured, so they have contact, contamination, and corrosion effects on the thermometer itself and the object being measured.


2. Non contact thermometers detect the surface temperature of objects and can only measure the temperature of the exposed outer surface. Contact thermometers can measure any position that the probe can reach.


3. Non contact thermometers have a fast response speed and can measure moving objects and transient temperatures. Contact thermometers have a slow response speed and are not suitable for measuring transient temperatures, making them inconvenient for measuring moving objects.


4. Non contact thermometers have a wide measurement range, while contact thermometers do not have a wide measurement range and require consumables.
