The leaked flammable or toxic gases are quickly diluted by the air, making it difficult to locate the location of the leak and conduct quantitative analysis. After a period of time, these gases accumulate in local areas or dead corners. When the content of combustible gas in the air reaches a certain value, it is very easy to burn or explode when encountering an open flame. If this very dangerous hazard cannot be detected in a timely manner, it will cause great losses to personal safety and property. To predict this potential danger, production areas should be equipped with gas detectors that can continuously detect it. Once the limit value is reached, an alarm signal will be immediately issued, prompting operators to take preventive measures to avoid the occurrence of malignant accidents. Gas detector is an instrument tool for detecting gas leakage concentration, which includes portable gas detectors, fixed gas detectors, online gas detectors, etc. Mainly using gas sensors to detect the types of gases present in the environment, gas sensors are sensors used to detect the composition and content of gases.
Fixed gas detector: This is a detector commonly used in industrial installations and production processes. It can be installed at specific detection points to detect specific gas leaks. The Yiyang fixed detector is generally a two body type, with a detection head composed of a sensor and a transmitter installed on the detection site. The secondary instrument consisting of a circuit, power supply, and display alarm device is installed in a safe place for easy monitoring. Its detection principle is the same as described in the previous section, but it is more suitable for the continuous, long-term stability and other characteristics required for fixed detection in terms of process and technology. They also need to be selected based on the type and concentration of on-site gas, and attention should be paid to installing them in the most likely leak location of a specific gas, such as selecting the most effective height for sensor installation based on the specific gravity of the gas, and so on.
Portable gas detector: Due to its convenient operation and compact size, it can be carried to different production locations. The Yiyang electrochemical detector is powered by an alkaline battery and can be used continuously for 1000 hours; The new LEL detectors, PID, and composite instruments use rechargeable batteries (some have already used memoryless nickel hydrogen or lithium-ion batteries), making them generally able to work continuously for nearly 12 hours. Therefore, these types of instruments are increasingly widely used in various factories.
