The difference between infrared thermometer and optical pyrometer

 

The first is the measurement range. The optical pyrometer measures the high temperature of 700"3200^C, and the infrared thermometer has a wider temperature range, from a low temperature of tens of degrees below zero to a high temperature of 3000 degrees, which can be said to be more extensive.


They also have obvious differences in readings. Optical pyrometers read according to the pointer on the dial and LED display, while infrared thermometers use LED display, automatic storage of the thermometer or reading through computer software.

In the measuring band, the optical pyrometer is at about 0.66um, while the infrared thermometer is at 0.7~14um.


The measurement accuracy of the optical pyrometer is ± 1%, the pyrometer used in the laboratory can reach ± 0.05%, and the infrared thermometer can reach up to 0.1%.


Working method: After the mechanical installation is completed, it will automatically measure and read (on-line) or hold the thermometer to the target and press the button to read.


The optical pyrometer uses human eyes to observe and adjust the current flowing through the filament to change the height of the filament until it has the same brightness as the background light, and the reading error is relatively large.
