The difference between the telescope laser rangefinder and the handheld laser rangefinder

Laser ranging uses a laser as a light source for ranging. According to the way the laser works, it can be divided into continuous laser and pulsed laser. Gas lasers such as helium-neon, argon ions, and krypton-cadmium work in a continuous output state and are used for phase laser ranging; double heterogeneous gallium arsenide semiconductor lasers can be used for infrared ranging; solid-state lasers such as ruby and neodymium glass can be used in pulsed laser ranging.

Compared with the photoelectric rangefinder, the laser rangefinder can not only work day and night, but also improve the distance measurement accuracy and significantly reduce the weight and power consumption, making it a reality to measure the distance to distant targets such as artificial earth satellites and the moon. If the laser is emitted continuously, the measurement range can reach about 40 kilometers, and the operation can be carried out day and night. If the laser is emitted in pulses, the absolute accuracy is generally low, but for long-distance measurement, good relative accuracy can be achieved.

Handheld Laser Rangefinder

The measurement distance is generally within 200 meters, and the accuracy is about 2mm. This is currently the most widely used laser range finder. Functionally, in addition to measuring the distance, it can also generally calculate the volume of the measured object.

Telescopic Laser Rangefinder

The measurement distance is generally about 600-3000 meters. This type of range finder has a relatively long measurement distance, but the accuracy is relatively low, and the accuracy is generally about 1 meter. The main application range is long-distance measurement in the field.

Industrial Laser Rangefinder

The measurement distance is about 0.5-3000 meters, the accuracy is within 50mm, and a reflector should be added 300 meters away, and some products can also measure the speed while measuring the distance. Mainly used in position control, such as vehicles and ships; positioning cranes; loading and unloading and handling equipment; aircraft measurement, mainly for measuring flight height; metallurgical process control; measuring inaccessible objects, such as pipe fillings, pipes, containers, etc., and Water level measurement. Typical sensors are LDM301, LDM4x.

At present, in terms of laser distance measuring instruments, the most well-known brands include American Tuyad, German Alfa, American Bohnen, Canadian Newcomb, and Japanese Nikon. From simple distance measurement to three-dimensional space positioning, the functions and application fields of laser distance measuring instruments are also constantly developing.
