The focal length relationship between microscope objective and eyepiece
1. Both eyepiece and objective lenses are convex lenses with different focal lengths.
2. The focal length of the convex lens of the objective is smaller than that of the convex lens of the eyepiece. The objective lens is equivalent to the lens of a projector, through which an object forms an inverted and enlarged real image. The eyepiece is equivalent to a regular magnifying glass, and this real image is then transformed into an upright and enlarged virtual image through the eyepiece. Objects that reach the human eye through a microscope are inverted magnified virtual images.
3. The length of the eyepiece and objective is inversely related to the magnification. The longer the eyepiece lens, the smaller the magnification; The longer the objective lens, the greater the magnification.
4. The overall magnification of the microscope is equal to the magnification of the eyepiece multiplied by the magnification of the objective lens.
The steps of using a microscope to make objects clear
1. Mirror retrieval and placement
① Hold the mirror arm with your right hand and the mirror base with your left hand
② Place the microscope on the experimental bench, slightly to the left. Install the eyepiece and objective lens
2. To light
① Rotate the converter to align the low magnification objective with the through-hole. Note that the front end of the objective should be kept 2 centimeters away from the stage
② Align a larger aperture with the through-hole. Look into the eyepiece with the left eye and open the right eye for future viewing and drawing. Rotate the reflector to see a bright field of view
3. Observation
① Place the glass slide to be observed on the stage and press it down with a pressure clamp. The specimen should be facing the light hole
② Rotate the coarse focus screw to slowly lower the lens until the objective lens approaches the slide. Keep your eyes on the objective lens to prevent it from touching the slide specimen
③ Looking into the eyepiece with the left eye, rotate the coarse focus screw in the opposite direction to slowly raise the lens until the object is clearly visible. Then slightly rotate the fine focus screw to make the visible object clearer
The answer is: (1) Take the mirror and place it; (2) Focus on the light; (3) Observe; Coarse quasi focal spiral; Fine focus spiral
