The main purpose of the neon tube type stylus:
Neon tube type electric pens, also known as electric pens, are used to check whether the metal casings of wires, appliances and electrical equipment are electrically charged.
These pens are divided into two forms: pen and screwdriver.
Ordinary stylus, can detect the voltage within the range of 60 ~ 550v, in the range, the higher the voltage, the stylus neon tube is brighter, below 60v, neon tube is not bright, for safety reasons, do not use ordinary stylus to detect the voltage higher than 500v.
Main uses:
1, used to distinguish between direct current and alternating current.
When the measured object is charged, the two electrodes of the neon tube will light up at the same time, which means that it is alternating current, if only one electrode lights up, it is direct current.
2、Used to distinguish between the fire wire and zero wire.
Measurement of alternating current, the neon tube is bright fire wire, not bright is the zero line.
3, used to determine the positive and negative poles of direct current.
Measurement of direct current, neon tube light pole is the negative pole, not light pole is positive.
4, used to determine the zero line break.
When the pen touches the two electrodes of the lamp socket, the neon tube glows and the bulb does not light up, indicating that the zero wire is broken.
5, used to measure whether the fire wire touch the shell.
Electric pen to test the shell of electrical equipment, if the neon tube glows, it means that the fire wire has touched the shell of the equipment.
6, used to determine the voltage.
Measured with an electric pen, the brighter the neon tube the higher the voltage, experienced electricians are also able to judge the approximate voltage range according to the intensity of the light.
7, used to determine the presence or absence of voltage.
Measured with an electric pen, if the neon tube is bright, it means that the side object has a voltage presence, and the voltage is not less than 60V.
With a stylus to test the metal casing of electrical equipment such as motors, transformers, power tools, washing machines and refrigerators, etc., if the neon tube glows, it means that the casing of the equipment is electrically charged.
