The number of sampling points and contour points of the laser profile sensor

Number of sampling points: refers to the actual number of points in the width direction of a single sampling of CMOS.


Contour Points: The number of contour points contained in each contour. It is mainly determined by the number of CMOS sampling points in the internal image of the contour sensor and the interpolation method of contour calculation.




The more actual sampling points in the same measurement field of view, the higher the actual measurement resolution.


Using the artificial contour point interpolation method, the number of contour points can be intentionally increased while the number of sampling points remains unchanged; then this will not really improve the measurement accuracy.


Some companies in the industry interpolate 640 points of sampling data into 800 contour points, and 2048 sampling points into 3,200 contour points.
